What type of wood do you use?

We use several species of maple hardwood to make our props. Because of the varying colour of maple lumber, the colour of our props can range from greyish white to reddish brown. We use wood plugs made of roasted maple to cover fasteners.

Did you design these props?

Our Iyengar yoga props are derived from the originals at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI) in Pune, India and reflect our long collaboration with Ethan Green, the founder of Pine Tree Yoga Props, LLC, in the United States.  Some of our props, such as our arched props, are built using tracings of the originals.  We have created digitized drawings and 3d models of these tracings to preserve them and enable us to create highly accurate props.

While our props are based on the originals, we’ve added our own unique look to some of them.  For these props, we took great care to ensure the important measurements and contours are maintained.

Props labelled as a "North Point Yoga Co. Exclusive" have been designed by us.

What markets do you sell to?

We currently sell to all provinces and territories in Canada. We will be expanding to serve Central America, South America and overseas regions in the future.  For US clients, we highly recommend Pine Tree Yoga Props, LLC located in the United States.

Can you build props with different materials or give them a unique appearance for me?

Yes, we can build our props with different types of wood and different types of finishes to meet your preferences. We can also customize the appearance of props where possible.

Would you be able to modify prop dimensions for my body shape / height?

Yes, we can build props with modified dimensions that you provide. We strongly recommend that you work with a certified Iyengar yoga teacher to determine the dimensions that meet your needs.

Do you do custom designs?

If you have unique look in mind or an idea for a new prop, we can work with you to create it. For new props that have never been made before, it would be best to have a certified Iyengar yoga teacher involved in the design process to make sure your ideas are safe and effective for your practice.
